The car was finished at the factory in Ermine White and is said to have undergone a refurbishment under previous ownership during which the body was removed from the frame and was reportedly refinished in 2019. Features include a hood with faux twin vents, SS and 396 badging, Super Sport script on the rear quarter panels, quad headlamps, and dual exhaust outlets.
White 14″ steel wheels wear polished dog-dish hubcaps and are mounted with F70 Firestone Super Sport redline tires. A spare wheel and tire are stored in the trunk. Power steering is installed, and stopping power is provided by unassisted four-wheel drum brakes. The brakes and suspension are said to have been overhauled in 2019.
The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in red vinyl. Features include a Chevrolet-branded push-button AM radio, lap belts, a chrome floor-mounted gear shift with a white shift knob, a cabin heater, and opening vent windows.
The red three-spoke SS steering wheel frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, amperes, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The odometer was reportedly reset during the refurbishment and shows 3,500 miles, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 396ci V8 breathes through a four-barrel carburetor and features an orange engine block and intake manifold and a chrome air intake lid and valve covers. The engine is said to have been overhauled in 2019 during which time the piston rings and bearings were replaced and a valve job was performed.
The engine code and serial number are shown above.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle.
The data plate decodes with the following information:
The Protect-O-Plate, an owner’s manual, and a car cover as well as spare rear coil springs, side windows, and chrome moldings are included in the sale.
