Anodized 1967 911S-sourced Fuchs 15×4.5″ wheels are mounted with 185/70 Pirelli P6000 tires that are said to have been installed in August 2022. Stopping power is handled by four-wheel disc brakes, which the seller states were overhauled with rebuilt calipers, replacement pads, and stainless-steel lines in 2021. At the same time, the suspension was refreshed with replacement rear bushings and ball joints as well as Bilstein dampers and Weltmeister sway bars, and the steering shaft bearing was also replaced.
The seller reports that in 2021 the front bucket seats and door panels were retrimmed in black vinyl with patterned inserts, replacement door panels were fabricated, and the retro-style AM/FM radio with auxiliary inputs was installed along with replacement rear speakers mounted in the Clover Industries speaker enclosure. Salt-and-pepper carpets cover the floors and additional equipment includes wing windows, a cabin heater, aluminum dashboard trim, and lap belts. The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a central tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil temperature, and a clock. The five-digit mechanical odometer is said to have rolled over once and now shows 38k miles, approximately 31k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 2.0-liter flat-six was sourced from a 1968 911L and was installed under previous ownership, and it was overhauled in 2018 with replacement piston rings, sodium-filled valves, valve springs, oil lines, gaskets, and fuel tank according to the seller. Sound insulation material was added in 2021, and the dual Weber carburetors were re-jetted and tuned in 2022, at which time a PerTronix ignition was installed and the spark plugs, plug wires, cap, and rotor were replaced.
The replacement Type 902/01 five-speed manual transaxle was installed under previous ownership in place of the factory Sportomatic transaxle. Service in 2018 is said to have included replacing the synchronizers, lower gears, clutch components, and shift linkage bushings, as well as installing replacement heat exchangers, heater boxes, and heater hoses.
The copy of the Kardex shows delivery to Volkswagen Pacific and lists the factory colors, equipment, and powertrain numbers.
