Steel 16″ wheels wear bright trim rings and hubcaps and are wrapped in 235/85 Cooper Discoverer tires, and a full-size Michelin spare is mounted to the underside. The front axle features manually locking hubs, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes. The power-steering fluid was flushed and KYB shock absorbers were installed in preparation for the sale.
The bench seat is trimmed in gray cloth upholstery, and a color-coordinated carpeted cover is fitted over the dashboard. Amenities include cruise control, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and a locking glovebox in addition to power windows, mirrors, and locks. The air conditioning system was converted to R134a refrigerant in July 2022, at which time a replacement compressor and drier were installed.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer flanked by combination gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 161k miles.
The 5.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six was rated at 160 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque when new. Work in 2022 included servicing the timing-gear dowel pin, resurfacing the flywheel, and replacing the front and rear main seals, the drive-belt tensioner, the radiator cap, and the battery.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a limited-slip rear differential. The flywheel was resurfaced and the clutch components, transmission input shaft seal, and transfer case seal were replaced in July 2022.
