Introduced halfway through the 1992 model year, the Summer Edition package was only available on the LX convertible and featured Vibrant Red (EY) paint with a power-operated soft top in white, body-color mirrors and trim, and a trunk lid spoiler. Opal Pearlescent 16″ Pony wheels are mounted with 225/55/16 Michelin XGT Z4 tires that show 1992 date codes. Standard equipment included power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, along with a handling suspension package that included variable-rate springs and a quadra-shock rear setup. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin is trimmed in white leather with a contrasting dashboard, black carpets, and seat piping. Amenities include articulated front sport seats with power-adjustable lumbar support as well as air conditioning, cruise control, a cassette stereo with a graphic equalizer, and power windows and door locks.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,800-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 542 miles, approximately 2 of which were added under current ownership.
The 302ci V8 was factory rated at 225 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. An oil change was performed in June 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a Traction-Lok rear differential.
